SMOKE DETECTOR
Smoke detectors are required in all new and existing residential structures. The property owner is responsible for the installation of smoke detectors and the occupant is responsible for maintaining batteries. The Toledo Department of Fire and Rescue Operations offers FREE smoke detectors to City of Toledo residents who cannot afford them. For more information regarding the smoke detector give-a-way program, please call the smoke detector hot line at 419-936-2390.
HOUSE NUMBERING
All houses and buildings are required to have addresses located where they can be easily seen from the public right-of-way.
Open Burning of Trash and Leaves
No open burning is permitted in the City of Toledo except for cooking food for human consumption. To report open burning call 9-1-1 or ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AT 419-936-3015.
