Francis John Szollosi was born on June 4, 1972 in Toledo to Francis M. and Emma Szollosi. Raised in East Toledo and Oregon, Frank graduated from Clay High School in 1990 and received his bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Utah in 1994.

Frank's brother, Matt, has served on Oregon City Council since 1999.  His grandfather, Fritz, served as Postmaster for Northwest Ohio and later as Lucas County Commissioner and is a decorated World War II Veteran.  His maternal grandfather, John Babarcsik, is a UAW Local 14 retiree, who served time in a Hungarian prison for refusing to denounce his American citizenship during World War II and later brought his family to Toledo to fulfill "the American Dream."

Frank married Wednesday M. Szollosi in March 1994. She is an attorney in private practice. They have two children, a son, Lucas, and a daughter, Sofia. The family resides in South Toledo.

Frank's tenure on City Council began in January 2003. He was elected in a special election in November 2003, and re-elected to a four year term in November 2005.  Frank has served as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee and currently serves as Chairman of Intergovernmental Relations Committee.

He sits on the Budget Task Force, where he works to control taxes and limit spending.  He led an effort in 2006 to include City Council in the City of Toledo ethics policy.  Frank also puts a high priority on neighborhood problem solving, putting into service a vintage Argosy Airstream trailer as his mobile office as well as a blog that focuses on community service.  http://szollosilistens.com

A communications consultant, Frank's past experience includes work as an administrator for the City of Toledo, handling budget and personnel matters, and as a Lucas County official, where he gained experience on big projects such as Fifth-Third Field, homeland security, and workforce development.

Frank also served as Press Secretary for Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur in Washington, D.C, and as an intern for President Bill Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff, Harold Ickes, Jr.

Frank's community involvement includes work as a political organizer, volunteer with youth, and as a member of St. Stephen Parish in East Toledo.

Neighborhood safety, strengthening education, and fighting for jobs are among his public service goals.
